DEPARTURE VALLON PONT D'ARC - ARRIVAL AIGUEZE
DISTANCE 45 KM

Morning  :
Drive along the impressive route of "Gorges de l'Ardeche". First stop at the Pont d'Arc, a natural arch of 54 meters high, carved into the rock by the river Ardèche. Then continue driving through the gorges and cliffs along this 30 kilometers canyon, dug into the limestone plateau. Many lookouts were built on the route from "Serre de Tiourre"  with a view over the Cevennes until Ales at the entrance of the gorge, from the viewpoints of Gaud, Gournier, Cirque de la Madeleine, until Ranc Pointu, before the beautiful view over Aiguèze, Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche and, further, the Rhone Valley and Mont Ventoux.

From St Martin d'Ardèche, cross the bridge over the Ardeche , and visit the medieval village of Aiguèze.

The Afternoon:

Brighten your day with a visit of cave to discover the wonders of the underworld. Gorges de l'Ardeche are, indeed, a place rich in caves: Grottes de St Marcel or Grotte de la Madeleine returning by the same route, Aven Marzal , or Aven d'Orgnac for a loop. All will make you appreciate their differences and particularities.
