 DEPARTURE RUOMS - ARRIVAL BALAZUC
DISTANCE 15,5 KM

Morning:
Departure from Ruoms to reach Largentière by the touristic road of "Defiles de Ruoms".  This road was carved into the rock in the 19th century. From there, you will get a spectacular view overlooking the limestone cliffs. After passing through several tunnels and impressive vaults, the road enters a deep gorge above the Ardèche and the Ligne rivers. At the cross of Bellevue, turn right towards Aubenas, and out of Uzer, follow Balazuc on your right. Arriving to the village, impressive views over the picturesque village, perched on the cliffs, and overlooking the river Ardèche. Visit the village through its little streets and vaulted passages to discover many traces of its medieval past.

Afetrnoon
Walk until the picturesque hamlet of Viel Audon. There is a 15 min walking  trail along the river Ardeche . For 35 years, volunteers are to restore the ruins and e life to this village, abandoned for a century. Animals, gift shop offering locally made products: goat cheese, syrup, herbs salt , honey. ..
You will then appreciate a stop to bath in the Ardeche river on the beach under the bridge of Balazuc.
